Sergio Verastegui (born 1981, Lima, Peru) is an artist based in Paris, France.

Verastegui grew up in Lima, Peru, between the 1980s and 1990s. After a brief stint at the art faculty of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Lima, in 2001, at the age of 20, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he studied at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, and lived in this city until 2006, when he traveled to the south of France to finish his studies in Nice, at the Villa Arson art school. In 2010, he moved to Paris with the opportunity of a one-year residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts. This opportunity allowed him to settle in the city of Paris, where he lives and works to this day. Verastegui’s work can be found in various international public and private collections, such as the Baltimore Museum of Art (USA), MAMCO (Geneva, Switzerland), Centre Pompidou (Paris, France), CAPC (Bordeaux, France), FRAC Île-de-France (Paris, France), among others. His work has been awarded and received various distinctions, such as the Jeune Création SYMEV Prize, Paris, in 2013, the Art-O-Rama 2013 showroom prize, Marseille, the Etant Donnés – Villa Albertine / FACE Foundation / CPGA residency prize, France-USA 2019, among others.
